NAME: Millie Hughes-Fulford (Ph.D.)

EDUCATION:
Hughes-Fulford graduated from Mineral Wells High
School in 1972, recieved a bachelor of science in chemistry from Tarleton
State University, Stephenville, Texaas and received a doctorate in
chemistry from Texas Woman's University, Denton, in 1972.
EXPERIENCE:
Since 1973, she worked at the University fo
California and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, doing
extensive research on cholesterol metabolism, cell differentation, DNA
synthesis and cell growth.
NASA EXPERIENCE:
Hughes-Fulford served as payload specialist 2 for STS-40. After assignment by NASA, she continued her
research, concentrating on a study of cellular and molecular mechanisms
for bone formation as it related to space flight.
