Held in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, from June 7-9, 2006, and co-sponsored by NSBRI, NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), 89 vestibular and sensorimotor scientists from the U.S., Canada, ESA countries, Japan and Russia met to address the understanding and amelioration of adverse physiological effects to the vestibular system of microgravity in space. Twenty-seven NSBRI investigators presented 18 platform papers and 11 abstracts resulting from their NSBRI-sponsored sensorimotor research awards. The meeting was organized by Patrik Sundblad of ESA and the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC), in collaboration with Charles Oman of MIT and NSBRI Sensorimotor Adaptation Team Leader, who led the Scientific Program Committee. ESTEC is hosting the archive until 2008. Presentations and abstracts from the Symposium are available online: http://www.congrex.nl/06a07/programme.html. |
