Conclusion for Focus 3

When we first looked at this figure in Focus 1, it looked much too complicated to even begin to understand. We were then reunited with the figure in Focus 2. You probably felt more comfortable with it at that time. The sections that are now highlighted in the figure represent the body changes that we have examined in this chapter. In each chapter to follow, we will examine other sections of this figure and, before you know it, you will feel even more comfortable with the idea that when one system in the body is affected by something (in this case, space flight), many other systems of the body are affected as well.

Before we finish this chapter and move on to examine how space flight affects our kidneys and hormones, you will participate in an activity that will sharpen your skills at communication. You are already familiar with "Speaking of Space" from the last chapter so let's get started!
