NASA Medical School Student and Resident Opportunities

Aerospace Medicine Clerkships
This NASA-sponsored four-week clerkship in Aerospace Medicine involves formal lectures on space medicine topics, exposure to human testing operations, and familiarization with the medical aspects of Space Shuttle operations and Space Station design and function. The clerkship is for fourth-year medical students only, and involves a research project in space medicine.

Kennedy Space Center Medical Electives
The NASA-Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Biomedical Office offers clinical rotations in aerospace medicine for medical students and postgraduate medical residents. This program offers a structured curriculum, emphasizing aerospace medicine and occupational medicine. The program consists of lectures in various aerospace medicine topics, ranging from the hazards of ground operations to the physiological changes that take place during space flight.
