| Harvard-MIT Bioastronautics Ph.D. Program The Bioastronautics Ph.D. Program--a part of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST) Medical Engineering and Medical Physics (MEMP) program--combines training in space life sciences, aerospace engineering and space medicine. It offers space-related internships and thesis research options at MIT, Harvard and associated hospitals. The program is led by Laurence Young, Sc.D., a member of the NSBRI Sensorimotor Adaptation Team and MIT Apollo Program Professor of Astronautics. Eligibility Candidates for the MEMP Bioastronautics Program must have completed at least a bachelor's degree or a substantial minor in an area related to bioastronautics, such as aeronautics and astronautics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, mathematics, or physics. They should also offer coursework and/or research experience that demonstrates a sustained interest in space life sciences. Candidates must, in addition, fulfill the MEMP general requirements.
